Is your state senator more like Clint Eastwood or Mother Theresa? Yesterday, Federal judge Michael McShane ruled against State Senator Brian Boquist in his suit against Senator Peter Courtney and others, writing “Plaintiff’s chosen words on the Senate floor were those of a bully on the playground. As such, they are unprotected fighting words.”
“Remarkably, Plaintiff argues that his statement to Defendant Courtney—“if you send the [S]tate [P]olice to get me, Hell’s coming to visit you personally”—was a statement of religious expression. But here, Plaintiff seems to overlook the fact that he sounds more like a character out of a Clint Eastwood movie than he does Mother Theresa.”
Senate District 12 deserves better representation than a playground bully. That’s why I’m running for Brian Boquist’s seat again. I’m ready to stand up against bullies on the playground and at the Capitol. More than 23,000 voters chose my campaign in 2016 and I need your help to reach more in 2020.
